Hugh’s ‘Nowhere Man’ Comic Is In A Holding Pattern

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Last year, Hugh Jackman announced that he had created a series called “Nowhere Man” for Virgin Comics. In what sounded like a logical investment in the comet tails of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” the story about a future world without privacy was being primed to become at least one movie, and possibly a video game.

When Virgin Comics disbanded, however, half of the property’s ownership fell into uncertainty, and even the comic’s scribe, “Resurrection” writer and “Green Lantern” co-writer Marc Guggenheim, doesn’t know if “Nowhere Man” has a clear destination for the time being.

“Well, that’s kind of in a limbo right now because Virgin Comics went away,” Guggenheim told MTV News. “That’s because the property is sort of co-owned by Virgin and Hugh Jackman.” (more…)

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Australian actor Hugh Jackman is apparently set to work with teen superstar Miley Cyrus.

The 40-year-old Australia actor sparked speculation he is set to announce a new movie project with the Hannah Montana star after they were seen having a working lunch at Mortons Steakhouse in Los Angeles.

PR stunts leave fans all a-Twitter

Monday, June 15th, 2009

When Hugh Jackman stumbled on Twitter last week, it was a rare slip-up for an actor who is widely regarded as one of the good guys in the entertainment world.

The admission that he communicated his “tweet” about “having lunch on the harbor across from the Opera Center” to an assistant rather than type it himself – undercutting the personal touch of the fast-growing social networking site – caused some scratching of heads about whether the star of Australia and Oscars host was getting bad public relations advice as he promoted X-Men Origins: Wolverine around the world.

Stars are constantly getting guidance from their minders about their image and there is no doubt that some of it is questionable. The shift of Tom Cruise’s image from all-round great guy to scary Scientologist is widely attributed to his axing of longtime publicist Pat Kingsley for his Scientologist sister, Lee Anne DeVette. Hugh Jackman Reveals His Bedtime Secrets – for His Kids

Monday, June 8th, 2009

How do you get your kids soundly asleep? Give them a good workout before bed, Hugh Jackman suggests.

“First of all, you gotta run them around before the bath. Play a game of hide and seek or wrestle or muck around,” Jackman, 40, tells PEOPLE. “Then they’re exhausted. Then we all fall asleep on the bed!”

The star of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was in daddy mode Tuesday night as he pushed his sleeping 3-year-old daughter, Ava, in an orange stroller – with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness by his side – to the Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash in New York’s Central Park. The event raised $282,000 for Baby Buggy, a charity founded by Jessica Seinfeld (and supported by husband Jerry) that provides everything from cribs to diapers to families in need. (more…)
